Art gifts, by occasion

Art is the rare present that is neither consumed nor resented. These edits narrow the gallery by the two things a gift-giver actually knows — who it is for, and why.

ArtMarket groups its gallery into 6 gift edits — for her, for him, housewarming, wedding, anniversary and Christmas — priced €40–€280. Each is a signed limited edition of 25, posted flat and unframed from Alicante, so the person receiving it chooses a frame that suits their room rather than inheriting ours.

Why art survives the gift-giving problem

Most presents fail in one of two ways: they are consumed and forgotten, or they are kept out of obligation and quietly resented. Art avoids both, because it is neither useful nor disposable — it goes on a wall, it is looked at daily, and nobody feels guilty about owning it for twenty years.

What makes it risky is the same thing that makes it good: taste. The way round that is not to guess harder but to narrow sensibly. These 6 edits cut the gallery, priced €40–€280, by the two things a giver actually knows — who it is for, and what the occasion is — rather than by medium or movement, which are the buyer's categories, not the gift-giver's.

What you are actually sending

Every work in the gallery is a limited edition of 25, hand-signed by the artist who made it, usually on the reverse so the signature does not compete with the image once framed. When an edition sells out it is not reprinted, so the present is not something the recipient can find cheaper on a print-on-demand site the following week.

Prints are produced on premium photographic paper and ship unframed, rolled in a rigid protective tube. Unframed is the right call for a gift specifically: framing is the part of the decision that depends most on the room, and a frame chosen by someone who has not seen the wall is the fastest way to make a good print look wrong.

Timing, delivery and the thing nobody asks about

Prints ship rolled in a protective tube from Spain, dispatched in 1–2 business days. Delivery is €8 within Spain, €18 across the European Union, €30 to the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, and €55 to the United States. Orders over €200 ship free within Spain and the EU. Orders inside the EU over €200 ship free, and every product page carries its own delivery estimate rather than a sitewide promise — prints are signed to order, so a date that assumes a warehouse would be a lie.

The question people are too polite to ask is what happens if it does not land. You can return an unframed print in original condition within 14 days of delivery for a refund to the original payment method. The 14-day window runs from delivery, which in practice means a present bought early is still returnable after it has been opened, priced €40–€280.

Giving art — the practical questions

Is art a safe gift if I do not know their taste well?

Safer than it feels, if you narrow properly. Calm, unliteral work has a much wider tolerance than a strong decorative statement, and because everything ships unframed the recipient still makes the decision that depends most on their room. The 6 edits here are cut by recipient and occasion for exactly that reason.

Can you send the print directly to the recipient?

Yes — enter their address as the delivery address at checkout. The parcel contains the print and the usual dispatch paperwork; if you would like a note included or the invoice suppressed, say so through the contact form and we will handle it by hand before it ships.

Do you include the price in the parcel?

The despatch note does not display a price. If you are having the work sent straight to the recipient and want to be certain, message us with the order number after ordering and we will confirm what goes in the box before it leaves.

Do you sell gift cards?

Not at the moment. Where a voucher would normally be the answer — you genuinely cannot call it — the more useful route is the enquiry form on these pages: tell us the occasion and the budget and we will come back with three or four specific suggestions rather than a balance.

How long will the print last?

Prints are produced on premium photographic paper and, framed behind glass and kept out of direct sunlight, they hold their tone for decades. Every work is a hand-signed edition of 25 and is never reprinted once the edition is exhausted.

How much is delivery, and where do you ship?

Prints ship rolled in a protective tube from Spain, dispatched in 1–2 business days. Delivery is €8 within Spain, €18 across the European Union, €30 to the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, and €55 to the United States. Orders over €200 ship free within Spain and the EU.

What if the person I give it to does not like it?

You can return an unframed print in original condition within 14 days of delivery for a refund to the original payment method. The 14 days run from delivery rather than from dispatch, so a present bought early is still returnable once it has been opened, and refunds are released within 3–5 business days of the print reaching the studio.

Not sure what to pick?

Tell us who it is for

A person reads every message, not a recommendation engine. Give us the occasion and a rough budget and we will come back with three or four specific works and why each one fits — no obligation, and no mailing list.
