What makes an ArtMarket print authentic
Every print belongs to a numbered edition, is signed by the artist who made the work, and travels with a certificate that records both. Here is exactly what that means, and what you can check when the tube arrives.

What the certificate says
One card travels with every print, at every price. It is filled in and signed by hand, not printed in a batch, which is why it names your particular copy rather than the edition in general.
- The title of the work and the artist who made it
- Your edition number, out of the 25 that will ever exist
- The printed format, in centimetres
- The date the print was made and signed
- The artist's signature, written by hand
The edition
How the edition is counted
Each work is produced in a run of 25 and no more. The counter on every product page is the real number sold, not a marketing figure — it moves when an order is paid for, and when the run is finished the work is not reprinted in that format.
The signature
What hand-signed means here
The artist signs the sheet itself, usually on the reverse so the signature does not sit inside the image. Nothing in the catalogue is machine-signed, stamped with a facsimile, or sold unsigned.
