What ArtMarket collects when you buy a print, why we need it, who else sees it, and how long we keep it — written to be read rather than to be survived.

What we collect

We collect what an order needs and little else. When you buy a print, that is your name, email address, delivery address, and the contents and total of the order.

  • When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you write in the message.
  • When you subscribe: your email address, and nothing else.
  • Automatically: basic technical data every website receives — the pages requested, rough location by country, and the type of browser and device.

We do not ask for a date of birth, a phone number, or any information about you beyond what is needed to get a print to your door and answer you if something goes wrong.

Why we use it

Your details are used to take and fulfil the order, to send order and dispatch confirmations, to answer your messages, and to handle returns and refunds. That is the whole of it.

We do not build advertising profiles, we do not run behavioural tracking across other sites, and we do not use your order history to target you elsewhere.

Card payments

Card payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment provider. Your card number, expiry date and security code go directly from your browser to that provider over an encrypted connection — they never reach our servers, and we could not retrieve them if we wanted to.

What we receive back is confirmation that the payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits of the card, which is what lets us match a refund to the right order.

Who else sees it

Your details reach three kinds of recipient, each for a specific reason:

  • The artist who made the print you ordered, so they can produce, sign and send it. They receive the delivery details, not your payment information.
  • The carrier, so the parcel can be addressed and tracked.
  • The payment provider, so the charge can be taken and refunded.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. Nothing is shared beyond these recipients unless we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require, because a completed sale has to remain auditable. Support conversations are kept for two years, so we can look up the history if you write again about the same order.

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe — every email has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect immediately. Technical logs are discarded after a few weeks.

Cookies

We use the cookies the shop needs to function: remembering the contents of your basket, keeping your wishlist, and carrying you through checkout without losing the order. Turning these off breaks the shop.

There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers on this site, which is why you are not asked to dismiss a consent banner on arrival.

Your data, your call

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and send you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong — a misspelled name or an old address;
  • delete your details, where we are not required to keep the order record;
  • stop sending you email, which the unsubscribe link also does instantly.

Email hello@artmarket.top and we will deal with it. There is no form to fill in and no charge, and we aim to answer within a few working days rather than the maximum a rule allows.

Keeping it safe

The site is served entirely over an encrypted connection. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders, and card details are never in our hands to begin with. No system is perfect — if anything ever went wrong in a way that affected you, we would tell you rather than wait to be asked.

Asking us about this

Any question about this page, or about what we hold on you, goes to hello@artmarket.top. You can also reach us through the contact form. If you would rather understand the commercial side first, see delivery & payment and returns.
