The idea
Why the gallery exists
A gallery typically takes between forty and fifty per cent of the sale price of a work. That arrangement makes sense for a painter selling a handful of originals a year. It makes far less sense for a photographer with an editioned print run, where the cost of another print is the paper and the ink — and the buyer ends up paying for a shopfront rather than for the art.
ArtMarket removes that layer. Artists list their own signed work, set their own prices, and keep the difference. What we run is the part that does not scale for an individual artist: production standards, packaging that survives international carriage, payment, and support when something goes wrong. It is why a signed original print here starts at €40 rather than several hundred.
